HOKURIKU REGION

Nestled in the heart of Japan between the sea and the mountains, the Hokuriku Region is full of cultural and historical treasures.

Visit Kanazawa, the center of contemporary art and artisans, known for its famous garden Kenroku-en, one of the three most beautiful in Japan.

Explore the Japanese Alps by bus ( Nohi buses, Hokuetsu buses from Takayama and Kanazawa; Kaetsuno buses from Shin-Takaoka), passing through the well-preserved village of Shirakawa-go, with its traditional thatched roofs, classified as a World Heritage by UNESCO.

Be charmed by Takayama, a small mountain town with many traditional houses and artisans’ shops.

This pass will also allow you to travel to the cities of Kyoto, Osaka, Kansai Airport and Nagoya but does not allow to travel on the Tokaido Shinkansen between Nagoya, Kyoto and Shin-Osaka.

Pass holders are allowed four reservations each on limited express trains ( excluding reserved seats on "Hakura Airport Express"), and unlimited rides on ordinary trains, non reserved cars on limited express trains, non reserved seats of ordinary cars of the Hokuriku Shinkansen.

Very efficient. Package at the hotel as promised. Everything worked. Great having internet everywhere in Tokyo all the time. Return could not be easier.

Very usefull, maybe more clear instruction on how to book train and difference within *** *** (a map perhaps to be sent with the metro system in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka?)

In general it's absolutely ok, but I have some comments. 1. It's not convenient to show every time JR pass to the station staff. 2. It would be more convenient if I could choose periods of use by day and not by week. 3. It's not convenient when I have no ability to go to Nikko by direct train.
