Introduction to the Hokkaido Shinkansen

hokkaido shinkansen

The Hokkaido Shinkansen is getting ready to debut on March 26, 2016!

This latest high-speed bullet train will take travellers from the northernmost point of the main Honshu Island, Aomori, to Hakodate, a noted city in southern Hokkaido. Connections from Tokyo will also be possible.

To celebrate the launch of this new train, this month we are releasing articles to explain more about the train, its new stations, where it goes, what to see, and the new rail passes that will come with it.

For now, in JR Stations around the country, you can find a variety of colorful flyers announcing the future shinkansen. Here are a few of our favorites.
